“Domradio” says that while according to the “World Hunger Index 2017” the situation of starving and malnourished people improved slightly – for example in Cambodia, Cameroon, Rwanda and Togo -, things got worse in Sudan, Somalia, Congo, Libya, Ethiopia, Chad, Liberia and Yemen.

Why didn’t I reply earlier? Sorry! I am not Texan, nor did I ever dive deaper into this subject than just watching this one episode of “Alltime10”, so I cannot say if that really means that almost 40% of all Texans want civil war.
I guess by “sovereign” they meant the status after a seperation from all the other United States.
Other than that thanks for this detailed explanation.

“Tagesschau” says that in Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital, Al-Shabaab attacked another hotel that was famous for all these non-Somalian tourists and killed 90 people.

United States

The US president doesn’t own Texas, or any other state. He doesn’t own anything except what he owns as a private citizen.
The US doesn’t “own” Texas. It is a “sovereign” state.
The US War between the States however, settled the question of succession. 40% of Texans may wish they could separate, but I doubt more than 1% believe it’s possible without civil war.
In this case “sovereign” means Texas can do anything it want’s except leave the Union. Even though the Texas Constitution says they can.
Reality trumps old paper.

Today in church a leaflet made by the German Christian aid-organisation “Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe” was spread among those attending mass. It says that in Somalia many people get displaced by one of the many fighting parties in Somalia, like terrorist groups, pirates or even the official Somali military. Luckily workers from aid-organisations like this one go to the camps where these displaced people live to provide them with bare necessities, makeshift classrooms for children and even sanitary rooms.

“10 New Countries That Could Exist in 10 Years” is the title of one of the latest episodes of the US-TV-show “Alltime10:
>According to polls 40% of all Texans want Texas to be an independent state. There even are demonstrations every once in a while calling for a “Texit”. In 2015 a small majority of Texans even believed a rumor according to which the US-President wanted to invade Texas, even though the US-President actually owns Texas.
>Most Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina most Serbs want their own Serbian country.
>In the East of Turkestan there is an Islamist group (the East Turkestan Islamic Party) that wants East Turkestan to be an islamist republic independent from China.
>Since 1991 there have been plans to make South Ossetia independent from the rest of Georgia. People even voted in favor of this separation. However Georgia ignores these referendums.
>Somaliland – the reason why I post this here – has been trying for decades to achieve recognition as a nation independent from the rest of Somalia due to economical reasons. Their infrastructure, police, justice system are much stronger than the rest of Somalia.
>Having the 6th largest economy in the world and a population higher than Poland as well as an educational system, welfare and infrastructure better than some other US-states, California has a growing population of citizens (currently 32%) asking for California to be separated from the rest of the USA.
