At first I’d like to state that I have the author’s permission to use this photo – which I used as a replacement for the no longer critically endangered Iberian lynx – as long as I make it clear that he doesn’t forcibly approve of how I use his photo or of my homepage here! According to some updates on the online IUCN-Red List of Endangered Species, the Iberian lynx surprisingly isn’t critically endangered anymore, which means I now had to remove all my summaries of newspaper articles that dealt with scientific theories as to why the Iberian lynx is so badly affected by the changes going on in its environment. Also I removed some articles that dealt with back then current cases of illegal poaching on lynxes and one newspaper article that dealt with Kyrgyzstan’s signing of a treaty that still guarantees the protection of far-walking animals that spent only part of their lives within Kyrgyzstan’s borders – which according to a newspaper article they signed in early May 2014. Technically I didn’t remove the original photo as I actually just replaced it with a photo showing a Darwin’s fox. The Darwin’s fox and the lynx both are classified as felines, which is how I argued that I talked about the critically endangered Darwin’s fox and the back then just as endangered Iberian lynx under one and the same photo: Though it is so cute this fox is nearly extinct now. Alas the only organization I found that tries to help is “http://www.worldwildlife.org/ogc/species_SKU.cfm?gid=59”, but at least they give you the chance of getting involved.
