English noun (gender): conversion to feminine Actor-Actress

I have started my spoken eng classess … it is 2 months course. Wanted to share my learning with you.

Noun is gender specific and there are 3 conversion rules to convert it to feminine.

1.  Suffix it with -ess

Ex. 1. Actor – Actress     2. master—mistress 3. benefactor—benefactress  4. emperor—empress 5. tiger—tigress

2. Change gender specific word in the noun

Ex. 1. buck-calf fem is cow-calf     2.  cock-sparrow fem is hen-sparrow 3. Landlord – landlady

3. No rules … we have to remember it by heart because these are words belongs to Eng language

Ex. 1. Drake fem is Duck     2. Drone fem is Bee
