Just a few short weeks after the birth of her daughter, Angelina Jolie announced that she and Brad want to adopt another child. She hasn’t decided from which country she will adopt, and she hasn’t given a timeline, but the actress-cum-humanitarian certainly has not tired of motherhood.

Listen to Mason and Emily talk about Brad and Angelina’s adopting frenzy.

Mason:  Branjelina’s adopting again.

Emily:  Whoa, really? Is this confirmed news?

Mason:  It’s totally confirmed. Angelina said they’re looking. I don’t think she said they were shopping around…

Emily:  It was implied.

Mason:  ...but that’s kind of what it seems like, you know.

Emily:  Shopping around for a kid!

Mason:  Isn’t that a weird thought?

Emily:  Yes it is, yes it is.

Mason:  So that’d be four for them, right?

Emily:  Yeah. They just had their third a few weeks ago.

Mason:  They just had their first natural, natural kid, right?

Emily:  And what a good looking kid it is, you know. They should think about conceiving more kids.

Mason:  But, so, okay, here’s the question, right: Is it okay to go looking for a kid? I mean, because they like different ethnicities and what not. I mean, it seems kind of weird, doesn’t it?

Emily:  Yes and no. I mean, it’s not conventional, obviously, but I think it has a certain element to it that is very noble.

Mason:  Alright, I’m going to take a stand, I’m going to take a stand.

Emily:  Alright.

Mason:  I think it is fantastic that they want to adopt another kid. There’s maybe an impulse to trivialize it because it seems like, ‘Well, if they’re going to adopt one kid, why are they picking that one and not this one? Why don’t they adopt more?’ But, you know, they’re doing something.

Emily:  They’re making such a big difference in these kids’ lives, and even if they only adopted one more, which would be awesome – they’d have three adopted kids, and that’s three less kids that don’t have parents are being raised in orphanages.

Discussion

The Hollywood baby boom is in full swing. So far, Angelina Jolie, Gwen Stefani and Elizabeth Shue have given birth in the past few weeks, and actors Jack Black and Matt Damon have recently been welcomed into fatherhood.

Britney has confirmed that she is pregnant with child number two, and rumors are flying that Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman each have a bun in the oven.

Apart from her birth daughter, Shiloh, Angelina Jolie has adopted two children from developing countries. She adopted her first child, Maddox, after shooting her movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in Cambodia. She adopted her second child, Zahara, from Ethiopia.

Jolie has done a lot of work to draw attention to the problems facing the children of immigrants and refugees. In 2005, she started the National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children.

do u think they realy raise their kids or they have oper and servants etc who get paid for that. they are not home most of the day, that's why it is not difficult for them….they don't have money problem and the kids will be gratefull for that in the future and will give them love (maybe more than their natural kid).
