Go Super to Listen Go Super!

Designing rockets involves some very advanced scientific knowledge. You need to know about physics, mathematics, engineering, and probably chemistry, too. In other words, if someone told you she had a degree in rocket science, you’d probably think she was pretty smart.

The phrase rocket science has therefore come to stand in for any activity that is very difficult and requires great intelligence. People often use the phrase sarcastically, and in the negative. For example, let’s say I was waiting for my friend to put together a bookshelf, and I started getting impatient. I might say, “What’s taking you so long with that shelf? It’s not rocket science!”

Javier Bardem, however, sounds pretty sincere when he describes his difficulty with technology. When he says that doing email is, for him, like rocket science, he means that it is as difficult for him as advanced physics and engineering might be for most people.

Have you ever struggled with something that others found easy, but you felt was more like rocket science?

“Ah, I’m getting so frustrated with this math problem! I know it’s not rocket science, but I just can’t figure it out!”

Everyone is supposed to get a rocket science in life, even to geniuses, if building a rocket is easy for them, probably getting along with many people is not..

Julito, I know it’s outdated and all, but I make it a habit of mine to lug an address book with me whenever I go and I have a spare at home with the same information. You know why? Because if I ever lose my phone, I’d lose most of my contacts

But if you really need a boost up, you might want  to ask them for a gin and tonic  that’d set  all of your  memories ablaze ;)

Snoopy,  I can not also memorize names and phone numbers, no matter  how many times before  i had  dialed up  the digits  ,they completely  erase from my mind.  I think  that i will have to go to the drug-store  and buy a tonic  to boost my memory. :)))))

Let’s see… other than quantum physics and chemistry   : )

…There a several things that I can’t seem to get the hang of whereas other people around me seem to have mastered very well. For instance, I’m terrible at remembering telephone numbers and street names when needed. You’re thinking  that’s not too bad .It could be, if you often  can’t seem to remember your own phone number or your mother’s. Or  if you deny people’s request for direction just because you can’t think of the name of a street you’re so accustomed to. I’ve puzzled quite a many  of out-of-towners with my directions:  “ go straight, then left, then left again, then right, there’ll be a church right on your left side once you’ve passed it, you’re there… good luck!” . “so, I go straight and then I make a left on Abc street, I believed it called, right?” .   “It could be. But just make the first left, in case it isn’t, alright? Good luck!”. The interesting part is that on occasions when I least expected, those elusive phone numbers and streets names would come back to me. So it always amazes me when people are prompt at dialing phone numbers and naming streets off the top of their heads, anytime no problem.

Now, if you’re worry that I might misplace my phone one day, and I cannot dial up my mother ; or that I might strand a tourist in the woods. Rest assured I keep a phonebook in my backpack and I have pocket size maps to hand over to tourists ;). The thing I have difficulty understanding is why in the world can’t I swim? Is my heart that heavy that my body can’t float above the surf like anybody else’s? . I can’t figure out an answer to this phenomenon. I’m all thumbs when it comes to swimming. To put it in a more realistic perspective, it’s like walking on water with ski boots on, for me ;). I can doggy-paddle unsupervised if my feet can touch solid bottom ;) People claim that I’m  aqua-phobic , I tell them that I’m not  I just haven’t developed the motor skills for swimming yet . The truth is, I’m not scared of the water or drowning, if someone is there to be of assistance . But every time I’m sinking people keep telling me that I’m not. They just assume that I’m joking around until they reckon that I’m indeed sinking :). I can use jingles to remember streets names and phone numbers, but what mnemonic method could help me swim?

I guess all men are created equal, but no man has it all (that’s what I tell myself to keep face when I’m clinging onto the springboard ;). We all have our different interests, aptitudes and skills. It is so that we can find interacting and learning from one another fun. Imagine a homogenous world, a place in which all of us were rocket scientists and agile swimmers.  :)

friendlover, my sensitivity goes overboard I wish I would be more indifferent to everything that is around me.  I agree with you that daily astrology is complete fiction but in general each sign of the zodiac has specific features.

Pisces, Сancer, Scorpio are signs of the water. They are transparant, sensitive, emotional, dreamy

I get on very well witth signs of the water and sometimes with signs of the fire ( Aries, Leo)

Lesya, I don’t believe in daily horoscopes. I mean astrology tells people what is gonna happen in a day or a week relating their horoscopes. But each horoscope has its specific features and it’s always true I tink. Chack on yourself if you want. Aren’t you sensitive? All Piscec I know are sensitives. It cannot be coincidence.

in fact , dealing with some people is I think kind of rocket science , not only women but men as well .
when you try to intervene in some woman’s life and try to attract her at the time she never knows you’re out there thus I think you get your self in trouble and spin therefore you feel like you’re dealing with a tough and arrogant woman its not true feeling you just own your business . consequently , that will lead you to describe that embarrassing situation ‘I mean dealing with women’ with rocket science .
anyway , there are a lot of things in life are so rocket science , I always avoid stuff that drive me crazy so it so essential that you should differentiate between things you like and stuff you kind of hate’em even both women and men just like that .

Lesya, I hope I didn’t cause a misunderstanding. I didn’t intend to criticize women. In fact humanbeings are mysterious. Everybody has their mystery. But in general women seem more mysterious.

You really explained very well the situation of men and women. I also don’t think men are always stronger than women. For example me. Maybe because I am Pisces, I am so sensitive too.

friendlover I don’t deny women are complicated creations. Often they don’t know what they want from their beloved or from their life on the whole. I never protected women because I’m a woman myself.

Women like to proclaim themselves extra sensitive and touchy but owing to my own observation and long life on this earth I confidently confess that men’s psychic is million times more vulnerable than women’s. Men bear colossal emotional stresses that  as a rule are hidden away from the eyes of public.

Women often assume men as  superficial ones  but the vast majority are  actually not.

The men’s difficulty to understand women lays in their serious approach to understand the object of their interest or love. Men look inside the problem while women floating on temporary emotions and feelings.  All of this  proves that  philosophers are usually men. IMHO

Thank you Lesya, for believing I would be good at dealing women. It’s just hard to decide how to behave sometimes. Women are mysterious. Don’t you think?
