What would you do if you could travel to an alternate reality? Would you stay in your normal life, or go on a fun adventure? No matter what you might choose, you can see what it would be like in the new Disney movie, “Tomorrowland.”

In this new movie, a smart young girl (Britt Roberston) and a mysterious man (George Clooney) take a trip to another world. But they have to be careful, because what they do in Tomorrowland changes what happens in the real world. If you like sci-fi, then this movie will be a good choice for you.

Brian wants to go see “Tomorrowland” with Gary. Find out more in today’s English lesson about a new Disney movie.

Gary

Brian:  Gary, I just watched the trailer for “Tomorrowland,” the new Disney movie.

Gary:  Looks amazing!

Brian:  With George Clooney. It’s so mysterious. I can’t even tell what the movie’s about.

Gary:  I love that “Tomorrowland” is based on the Tomorrowland space in Disney World, which is just so cool.

Brian:  It’s a movie about a theme park?

Gary:  Yes. How great is that?

Brian:  It seems fun. I really like that there’s the whole alternate reality.

Gary:  Yeah. She’s going on this adventure, and trying to exist in this new space.

Brian:  Yeah, the sci-fi elements looked really miraculous.

Gary:  I wonder exactly what’s going on. I’m curious, is this a mystery movie? Is this an action movie? I don’t know what it is.

Brian:  I can’t tell. Part of me thinks it should be a sci-fi movie since it’s “Tomorrowland,” but she wakes up in a wheat field, so there’s something so rural about it.

Gary:  And what is this pin? What’s the mystery of this pin? And what’s the history of it? Where does it come from?

Brian:  And what is George Clooney doing?

Gary:  Who is George Clooney?

Brian:  Who knows?

Gary:  I don’t know. I want to see it so much.

Brian:  Me, too.

Brian is excited to see the new movie “Tomorrowland.” He doesn’t really know what the movie is about, but he likes that it is mysterious. He also thinks that the sci-fi elements look miraculous.

Gary agrees with Brian that “Tomorrowland” will be a good movie. He tells Brian that it is based on a theme park. Gary is also confused about the story, but he’s interested in seeing what happens.

Do you think “Tomorrowland” will be good? Do you want to live in an alternate reality?

I think I’ll have to see this movie, seems interesting.

I’m obsessed with anime shows, so I think if I can choose to be in an alternate reality, it would be the anime world, at least the good always wins at last.

If you ask me why your alternate reality could not be a peaceful version of the world instead, I would tell that using imagination is easier than wishing for the human nature to change, personally speaking…

I am not sure what to say about alternete reality. I mean, the idea of living in an alternate reality is fascinating, at the same time we all know that it is something highly impossible.

Why yearn for something impossible rather than being content with what we have and try to make it better for our future generations?

What are  our dreams if not an alternate reality ,even when we are daydreaming we are creating fantasies and worlds of our own. Some philosophical schools declare that this plane of existence is also a dream and the purpose of our existence  it is to evolve and wake up to an absolute and unchangeable reality, beyond suffering  and death. This is what should be our   hope ,to reach some day our “Tomorrowland land” and it`s  not sci-fi and miraculous at all, it is our birthright.

Why hot Nia?!

I wont come with you because I cant bear hot weather at all!! :)))

I like sci-fi movies because this kind movies  take me away from my hard real world that Im living there now!!

I think living in this world is much more harder than any other tomorrowland that we can imagine!!

If someone when I was a kid figured the situation of life that the world have now , I never believed it could be real someday!

It was just like a sci-fi movie for me!!! :)))

I think it could be a good movie. I like to know about alternate reality but if living conditions are something like what are in our world, like weather and foods, I like to have a short experience of that world.

Alternate reality maybe so interesting and mysterious and also maybe so dangerous! who knows, maybe there live so strange creatures.

It sounds amazing to live in an alternate reality. I would love that. But it should be better than the one I have :)

But seriously, I’d love to live in a world that there is no war, no crime no horror. There is peace, love and friendship. I know it sounds so utopic. But don’t we all want that.
